Quarts of Serenity
Rose Quartz / Serenity PANTONE Color(s) of 2016
Hello fellow fashionistas! I hope you had a fantabulous Thanksgiving filled with happiness, food comas, and stretchy pants. The temps are dropping in the Grotto so I have been frolicking along the sand dunes rather then dipping my toes in the water.
This week's outfit was inspired by Pantone's 2016 Color of the Year that was announced last Thursday. This year they have decided to feature a blend of two pastel hues and I'm not complain'! "Rose quartz" and "serenity" conjures up, "cotton candy skies" in a daydream state of mind.
I immediately chose to build my outfit around this light-as-air open duster cardigan from Anthropologie because it features stripes of saturated "rose quartz" and "serenity"! I bought it two months ago when it went on sale for $9.95! *Tip: The Anthro sale room is a treasure trove, roll up your sleeves and look in every nook and cranny for great bargains!*
The fluffy infinity faux fur scarf is luxurious and is my go-to for winter accessory! Various looks can be achieved by folding and ruching the scarf. If you really wanted to you could drape it like a hood, Eskimo style!
Speaking about bargains found in the Anthropologie sale room, these white & beige color-blocked Pilcro moto-inspired skinny jeans were found there as well! They were purchased for $19.95 last fall.
The beautiful "serenity" lightweight knit sweater was purchased two months ago at Ann Taylor. Buyers at Ann Taylor are fashion forecast wizards because they were one of the first fast-fashion oriented retailers to feature shades of "serenity" and blush tones such as "rose quartz".

This ring cost millions...ok thousands...ok-ok... less than $15.00. The reason I bought this mega-glamourous costume pink gemstone ring, was for a Breakfast at Tiffany's Halloween costume back in high school. I hardly wear it other then for costume reasons but the color was perfect to represent "rose quartz"!
I have featured these beauties in a previous post but couldn't resist wearing them again for this look! The milky opal gemstone in the center picks up pretty pastel tones when the sunlight reflects on them.

I call these my reptile heels! They are F I E R C E. Last year I couldn't pass these Steve Madden's up while browsing the shoe aisles in the Lord & Taylor outlet. For this look I thought the antique silver and shine would harmonize well with the pastel hues of creme, beige, "rose quartz" and "serenity".
