In the Grotto: OOTW Look Book

November 16, 2015

Opal Opalescence

Fellow fashionistas, I braved the gusty winds along Sandy Hook beach for this weeks post!  To keep warm in between shots (the photo kind), I did various spazzy dances that would make Mr. Bean proud.
I also muttered, "I'm so c-c-c-c-cold Jack" in my best Kate Winslet voice.

This outfit is inspired by the pastel hues of winter, the glimmer on freshly fallen snow, and sunlit icicles!  I had fun putting this look together especially because the t-shirt and skirt were found while organizing the sale room at work.

I found the ivory skirt first and once I spotted the minty- silver foiled t-shirt, I knew the two would have a happy life together! *Please view the "Behind the Scenes" video to see the outfit without the jacket.

The skirt was on sale for...wait for it........10 bucks!  I kid you not fashionistas!  The original price was $148.00. The poly-acrylic blend creates an upholstery-like texture.  Unfortunately the pictures do not pick up the silver thread sewn throughout the skirt.  To my surprise the linen t-shirt was also a fabulous sale price! $19.95! Woohoo!!

In keeping with the "icy" hues, I chose to wear my Aldo heels or as I call them, my Ballroom dancing heels! The charcoal gray and silver pouch is my go-to for a night out of dancing or grabbing drinks with friends. Believe it or not it was part of a three-piece pouch set from Victoria's Secret a few holiday seasons ago!  I will feature the other two in future posts.

To add more sparkle and shine to this festive look, I added one of my favorite necklaces from Francesca's! It has a perfect balance of edginess, glam, and femininity.  All the ingredients for being a Rockstar!
