In the Grotto: OOTW Lookbook

December 15, 2015

Hello, it's me.  Couldn't help myself, I watched Adele's television special last night! It was flaaaAAwwless! Okay...back to ze fashion!  This week's outfit was inspired by the rich orange and gold hues of a fall sunset.

I've recently been dabbling in using Lesley Riley's Transfer Artist Paper (TAP)  to create my own textile designs on existing clothing!  While the process is similar to the iron-on method, it doesn't leave the yucky film that cracks over time.  It simply adheres to the fabric as if it was printed in a factory!

See that funny face? Not the funny facial expression I'm making ;p, the cartoon one located on the body-con dress.
While in a doodling mood, I illustrated the face via Adobe Photoshop.  I consider it my lil' ode to Roald Dahl and Pablo Picasso!  I thought it would make for a whimsical textile design!

To play upon the whimsical vibe, I chose to layer an oversized plaid wool coat over the heather gray long sleeved body-con dress.  Whenever I'm in a vintage styling mood during the fall and winter seasons, this is my go-to coat!  Plaid nevah goes out of style babyyy!

I'm a fan of pairing taupe and brown hues with gray rather then black.  It exudes a softer and natural look in my opinion.  These taupe tights (try saying that five times fast), have a unique fishnet-floral print  on them.  From a distance, it appears as though I have subtle tattoos all over my legs!

Argh! Here we have me pirate booties! If Captain Hook was a woman she would rock these ankle boots across the seven seas!  The playful and flirty exaggerated cuff mimics the over sized plaid coat without looking too comical hopefully.

Let's not forget the chocolate brown A/X Armani Exchange leather backpack in the background!
It's filled with me gold from a stolen treasure chest!

Last but certainly not least, this gorgeous turquoise and hammered sterling silver ring!  My Nana passed it down to me along with a few other beautiful Southwestern turquoise jewelry pieces.  I will cherish them forever!
