Patent Leather, and Satin, and Knits, Oh My!
Welcome back to the Wonderful Wizard of... Grotto! Recent mornings have been windy enough to make you want to hide out in Auntie Em's cellar. By noon you are melting like the Wicked Witch of the West.
This week I wanted to show you one of my favorite ensembles and how quickly it can transform into a nighttime look, just by a simple change of shoes. Whenever I wear this look to work at Anthropologie, I get compliments! The turtleneck tank is a fairly new arrival at Anthro. It's oh so airy and comfortable. I never thought I would say that about a turtleneck!
Speaking of comfortable... these silky high-waisted drawstring lounge pants are like buttah! I bought these on sale for $20 last year at Urban Outfitters. The original price was roughly $100!! HELLOOOO SAVINGS!
To mimic the shine of the satin pants and the overall minimalistic vibe for this look, I opted for my patent leather sandals. They are formal enough for work and or daytime activities/ festivities.
When the sun sets, it's time to party! I fling off my sandals and slip into my ruby red slip... I mean black suede ankle boots. Amazing how a pair of shoes can completely change an outfit!

A little studded embellishments never killed a fashionista! This itty bitty cross body bag adds a bit of edginess to the daytime and nighttime look. Don't be a cowardly lion! RAWR!!
While these jewels may not be emerald green, they sparkle like Glinda's dress! It was hard to capture the beauty of this opal ring in a photo. In the sunlight, purple hues and hints of green and blue are visible. I call it my opal "mood" ring.
These sleek patent leather sandals are mucho comfortable! The shine of the patent leather adds a dash of "fancy" to a casual outfit. Whenever I wear my silky lounge pants during the daytime, these sandals are my go to choice.
Suede! Give me more suede! I love me some suede! Which reminds me... I have to purchase at LEAST one suede skirt for this season. Currently the most sought after silhouettes are pencil and maxi skirts. Suede garments and accessories are on-trend along with other 1970's fabulousness!
